Our Gatlinburg, Tennessee area Custom Built Log Homes are nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains just 2 miles from the National Park border. They are located on a very sparsely settled, rural paved county road with easy access to the National Park. Downtown Gatlinburg is but 15 minutes away and the Pigeon Forge is 20 minutes away. However, our remote, secluded location allows you incredible privacy with only the sounds of nature competing with the sound of your rocking chair on one our our covered porches.
Each one of our lodges is a authentic log house built with squared hewn timbers, mortised and chinked and is architecturally accurate for the locality of the Southern Highlands in the time period of the 1890's to early 1900's. Each is furnished and decorated in accordance with that period utilizing items reflecting our life long interest in early Americana and with period antiques, art works and collectibles . However, the Lodges are also fully equipped with all the modern living conviences we enjoy.
You'll instantly feel at home in our clean, comfortable lodges. We provide towels, sheets, blankets, pillows, kitchen utensils, dishes, pot and pans---all the amenities you need for a relaxing vacation.
Our lodges can accommodate from 8 to 10 overnight guests comfortably. Please note, the maximum number of people in each lodge during the day is 12 persons.
Sassafras Lodge and Trillium Lodges' amenities include:
Both Lodges sit on our own six+ acres of forest land on a "holler" located in a sparcely settled neighborhood on a well maintained county road. It is a 1 1/2 mile to the Little Pigeon River's Covered Bridge and great trout fishing (and swiming) and just a 1/2 mile more to the Greenbriar Entrance to the National Park.
